Shaba

Our Story

We’re two siblings who grew up in Düziçi, a small town in southern Turkey. We moved to Istanbul for our studies one of us in international business and law, the other in film and eventually made our way to Ireland.

One of our biggest inspirations for starting Shaba was our love for cooking and hosting. We’ve always found joy in inviting people into our apartment, sharing meals, music, and stories. That warm, communal experience of gathering around food continues to be the soul of what we do.

At Shaba, we reinterpret the recipes we brought from Turkey through the lens of Ireland’s multicultural street life.
It’s not just about the food it’s about memories, flavors, and identities coming together.
We blend tradition with innovation, music with meze, and political awareness with street culture.

For us, food is a form of communication and we speak it with honesty and heart.
